Review discussions is a new series (as of yet untitled*) that I hope to launch sometime within the first quarter of 2017. The idea behind the series is to sit down for around fifteen minutes (In actuality me and Jeremy talked for nearly double that time) with Ground Punch’s various reviewers and talk to them about the excellent reviews they write for the site. I want to have a more personal insight into the thoughts our reviewers have about the games they review and hopefully explore a few angles not explored in their reviews.
In this first pilot episode, I talk to Jeremy about his review for Steep, a game that he found to be lonely, lacking in narrative, and on occasions boring. We talked about why he found being lonely in the Alps negatively impacted the experience, what he was looking for in terms of the game’s narrative, and why he thinks there has been a lack of dedicated extreme sports games. I hope you enjoy, and if you haven’t already, please check out Jeremy’s great review at the link below.
